The online dictionary Terminologia de les vacunes (‘Terminology of vaccines‘) collects 186 terms of two main kinds. On one side, a group of 137 general terms, chiefly terms related to immunology and vaccinology; on the other side, 49 specific terms about preventive vaccines. The latter group including vaccines in use in Catalonia at present (systematic vaccines in the immunization schedule, as well as non-systematic vaccines, for instance, those given to international travellers), some vaccines given in other countries and, finally, some vaccines no longer in use but having a historic interest. Neither obsolete preventive vaccines nor vaccines in development are included in the dictionary.

Each entry contains a designation in Catalan, equivalents in Spanish, French and English, and, eventually, explanatory notes. A definition in Catalan is also included for general terms.

Catalan designations of preventive vaccines follow the Criterion on vaccine denominations, passed by Supervisory Council, the corporate body in charge of terminological standardisation in Catalan, with the consensus of some field experts. According to this criterion, each vaccine has two possible Catalan designations and, in most cases, also a short form.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in three ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), using the thematic access or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
