The online dictionary Terminologia del finançament alternatiu (‘Terminology of alternative financing’) gathers 37 Catalan terms, with definitions, and equivalents in Spanish, French and English. This is a terminology work dealing with a fairly new subject field, which has been developing after the global financial crisis appeared and thanks to technologies facilitating transactions.

The motivation responds to a demand from ACCIÓ, the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Catalan Government. On their daily work, they need to have good Catalan terminology available, as terms are created in English in this subject field. At that moment, at TERMCAT, we were already carrying out some research about terms related to crowdfunding. And after further systematic research on alternative financing terminology, a standardisation meeting with experts on this subject field was organised. On that meeting, about twenty terms were discussed. Proposals were then taken into consideration by TERMCAT’s Supervisory Council. Therefore, most of the terms included in this terminology are standardised terms.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
