Diccionari d'esports nàutics

The Diccionari dels esports nàutics (‘Nautical Sports Dictionary') includes about one thousand terms related to yachting, surfing, water-skiing, motoboating, rowing and canoeing. Each entry contains a Catalan denomination, equivalents in Spanish, French and English and a Catalan definition. This edition is a second updated and extended edition of dictionary, first developed in 2005.

The terms from this dictionary have been compiled from the Diccionari general de l’esport ('General Dictionary of Sport') and have their origin in the updated 1992 Olympic dictionaries and in vocabularies revised by specialists from the corresponding federations for other sports.

Clicking on Consulta de termes ('Term search'), terms can be looked up in three ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language); using the Accés temàtic (‘Thematic access’) in Catalan (it gathers denominations by thematic areas, each one corresponding to one of the sports); or introducing a term in any language in the upper space Text de la consulta ('Text search'); this third option allows simple or advanced searches.
