This online dictionary gathers about 1,200 terms relating to ophthalmology, organized under six thematic fields: anatomy, physiology, exploration, semiology, pathology, and therapeutics. It offers definitions and denominations in Catalan, with equivalent terms in Spanish and English and, in some cases, French, and where appropriate, international anatomical terms.

The Diccionari d’oftalmologia (‘Dictionary of Ophthalmology’) was published on paper in 2001 by TERMCAT with support from the Government of Catalonia and the assessment of specialists from the University of Barcelona and the Catalan Society of Ophthalmology. In the second edition on line the French equivalents have been added using terminology provided by the Basque Center for Terminology and Lexicography UZEI.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language) or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
