In this dictionary you will find the terms related to sexual consent, a key material to understand that only yes is yes and that any sexual practice must be voluntary, safe, desired, consensual and free of sexist violence. Most of the terms already had Catalan denominations, but there were many conceptual problems because they were often used in an ambiguous or contradictory way and the legislative texts of different countries do not usually have definitions corresponding to the terminology they use. In addition, many concepts related to sexual offenses have a great cultural load and vary greatly depending on each country and each legislation which, in turn, usually changes periodically. For this reason, TERMCAT has considered it necessary to draw up a collection containing the basic terminology in this area and with the priority objective of naming and defining sexual offenses. In cases of conflictive terms, a group of experts agreed on the best definitions in a working session.

The terminology includes more than 50 terms. Each term includes the names and the definition in Catalan, the equivalents in Spanish and English, and, in some cases, conceptual clarifications or example notes.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" ('Term search'), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language) or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" ('Text search') in any of the dictionary languages.

The project Terminologia del consentiment sexual is presented as an open and reviewable project that can be expanded with the proposals of users and that aims to focus on the culture of consent and that at the same time aims to name the aggression against women.
