TERMCAT is not assigned with any jurisdictional responsibilities for drafting regulations or directives; as such, the provisions established for this point are not applicable.

Privacy policy

Personal data protection policy

TERMCAT guarantees that the data its users obtain will be held in privacy, in compliance with current legislation, and provides the following information on its personal data protection policy so that users can choose freely and voluntarily whether to let TERMCAT handle their personal data.

Purpose of the automated collection and handling of personal data

The automated collection and handling of personal data is a direct result of searches, requests or subscriptions made with the services, promotions, surveys or competitions TERMCAT offers; the purpose is to improve these services and the communication of information of interest to users.

Confidentiality in the automated handling of users' personal data

The personal data TERMCAT collects is stored using an automated filing system and is handled confidentially, in compliance with Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on Protection of Personal Data and digital guarantees, and the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. TERMCAT has adopted the legally required levels of security in its protection of personal data, and has installed all the means and technical measures available to it to prevent the personal data it handles from being lost, misused, altered, accessed without authorization, or stolen.

Transfer of users' personal data to third parties

TERMCAT will not transfer users' personal data collected on its website to third parties.

Users' rights in relation to their personal data

Users have rights regarding access to their personal data, and regarding rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objections to the processing of their personal data. These rights can be exercised through a written message (email informacio@termcat.cat or post to TERMCAT, carrer Mallorca, 272, 1a planta, Barcelona, 08037) accompanied by a photocopy of a legally valid identity document belonging to the user.

Registre d'activitats de tractament

The register of processing activities collects the information relating to the processing carried out by the TERMCAT Terminology Center Consortium and includes, for each processing, the following information:

  • Name and contact details of the data controller and the Data Protection Officer.
  • Purposes of the treatment.
  • Description of categories of interested persons and categories of personal data.
  • Categories of recipients to whom personal data may be communicated.
  • International data transfers.
  • Anticipated periods of deletion of data.
  • General description of technical and organizational security measures.

From 1 June till 30 September, over the Christmas period and during the week leading into Easter our opening hours are from 8 am till 3 pm.
