Diccionari d'esgrima - Presentación
TERMCAT offers to sabreurs, épéeists, foilists, specialists, journalists, translators, interpreters and fans in general almost five hundred fencing terms (with the corresponding definition and the equivalents in Spanish, French and English), to facilitate to the maximum the good communication among all them and from side to side of the fighting field.
The Diccionari d’esgrima ('Fencing Dictionary') gathers exactly 476 terms from the Diccionari general de l’esport ('General Dictionary of Sport'). These are terms that have their origin in the Diccionari d’esgrima published on the occasion of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, now revised, updated and enriched by specialists from the Catalan Fencing Federation. Therefore, it can be considered that this online dictionary is authentically a second edition of the Diccionari d’esgrima published in 1992.
Clicking on Consulta de termes ('Term search'), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), or introducing a term in any language in the upper space Text de la consulta ('Text search'); this second option allows simple or advanced searches.
