Mental health is nowadays one of the most preferential subjects of health care. Apart from the new approaches to the treatment of mental disorders and the understanding of psychic processes, several emerging mental diseases with a huge social impact are described. That is the case of Alzheimer type dementias or eating disorders. In this sense, with the aim to contribute to the spread and knowledge of the current psychiatric terminology, TERMCAT offers to users this dictionary, which gathers more than one thousand Catalan terms with the equivalents in Spanish, French, English and German.
It represents the online version of the Diccionari de psiquiatria ('Psychiatry Dictionary'), elaborated by TERMCAT with the support of the Catalan Government Heath Department and the collaboration of a team of professionals from the Psychiatry and Mental Health Catalan Association, coedited by Elsevier-Doyma and TERMCAT with Almirall’s sponsorship.
Clicking on "Consulta de termes" ('Term search'), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), or introducing a term in any language in the upper space "Text de la consulta" ('Text search'); this second option allows simple or advanced searches.
