Terminologia de les dones en el món laboral - Presentació

The Terminologia de les dones en el món laboral (Terminology of women in the labour market) is a collection of 41 terms falling between the areas of work and sociology, related to the particular situation of women in the work environment. It contains specific terms of labour legislation (breastfeeding leave), terms that give clear proof of an unfavourable and unequal situation between men and women (gender gap), terms that aim to be a tool for improvement (gender equality plan at the workplace) and terms that point out the goals to be achieved (gender equity), a society with equality of opportunity in all spheres of life, free of any limiting attitudes or stereotypes.
This work aims to meet the need for a vocabulary on this subject area, detected by the TERMCAT for some time. In that respect, we assessed several agencies, for example the trade union Comissions Obreres, which draw up vocabularies on this area (referred to in the bibliography of this work).
Every entry contains the designation or designations in Catalan, equivalents in Spanish, French and English, a definition and, frequently, additional notes.
This compilation is conceived as an open project because this fight is still on. We encourage you to use this terminology, to spread it and to send us any suggestions for improvements or updates.
Clicking on "Consulta de termes" ('Term search'), terms can be looked up in two different ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language) or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" ('Text search') in any of the dictionary languages.
