Over the last years, food paterns have changed for health reasons, for ideological reasons, or driven by environmental sensitivity, and changes have brought the need to coin new terms to precisely denominate new diets.

TERMCAT publishes the new Terminologia de les tendències alimentàries (‘Terminology of food trends’) in response to the need of adequate designations in Catalan. This is a small dictionary of about forty terms in Catalan, equivalents in Spanish, French, Italian, and English, definition and notes with complementary information.

The dictionary is an ongoing project open to new food trends that the 21st century brings us. We encourage you to use the terminology, spread it and send us an e-mail with any suggestions of improvement or updating.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
