The Diccionari de la COVID-19 (‘COVID-19 dictionary’) includes 500 terms related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. This dictionary is an open product, which has been growing since the first edition, in March 2020, and will continue to expand if necessary, following the evolution of the pandemic and the terminological needs that may arise.
Each terminological entry includes one or more Catalan names; equivalents in Occitan (Aranese variant), Spanish, French, Galician, Portuguese (Portuguese and Brazilian variants), English, Dutch, Basque and Arabic; where applicable, scientific nomenclature equivalents (scientific name, symbol or CAS number) are also provided; a definition, and, in some occasions, explanatory notes that provide more information about the term.
The completion of the equivalents in the various languages has been carried out by a set of institutions and individuals that are acknowledged in the Working Team document.
By clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language) or using advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
